| When Harmattan Blows
Barbara is a young woman living in Accra, the capital of Ghana. She is charismatic and self-confident, however, when harmattan blows, that suffocating wind from the Sahara makes her courage disappear. Along with the wind, unwanted images from the past return, taking away her peace of mind. As an eight-year-old girl Barbara shared the fate of thousands of Ghanaian children forced to slave labor. For many years, day after day, Barbara functioned in a world full of abuse, violence and fear. She survived and her experiences gave her incredible strength to fight for herself. With the help of her eldest brother, Kweku, and her good friend, Fr Peter, Barbara is gradually overcoming the demons of the past and confront people who hurt her This is a film about an independent woman who recovers from trauma and despite the dark past is full of dreams and has a lust for life.
